I think I was the world’s most nervous batter on the day that I asked Vera if she would date me. That she (reluctantly!) gave me a base on balls is more a testament to her willingness to take a chance, than it is to my batting prowess. You will also note that a base on balls constitutes a non-existent batting average — not a 1.000. As for my recent engagement, I can only assume that someone dropped the ball and I obtained an inside the park home run. She is truly my “better half”.

As for $, I believe that he will be “Benedick” to some woman’s “Beatrice”. After much ado about noting, he will realize one day that a fish has planted herself firmly in his bucket. He will also realize, at that point, that he was the hookee instead of the hooker. Love seems to work like that.
